ABSTRACT:  The research explores the relationship between student's perception of teacher's expectations, attitude and achievement in mathematics. It is also designed to present the disparity between perceived teacher's expectations and actual teacher's perception or expectation of students' abilities. The participants selected for the study were grade VI students from Sta. Cruz Elementary School with ages ranging from 11-13 years old. Correlation between the variables students' perception of teacher's expectations, attitude and achievement in mathematics was determined using the spearman rank order correlation coefficient. Binomial treatment and Wilcoxon signed rank test was used to determine the disparity in students' and teacher's perception of expectations. Results show that there is significant relationship between perceived teachers expectations and achievement with rho .22 at .05 level of significance. There is also a significant relationship between students' attitude and perceived teachers expectations with rho .32 at .01 level of significance but there is no significant relationship between students' attitude and achievement with rho .17 at .05 level of significance. However, there is a higher percentage of similarity than difference between students' and teacher's perception of expectations.
