ABSTRACT:  The production is aimed at finding out the physical manifestations of autism in children with ages 4-19 years old and the manner by which the parents of these autistic children cope with their children's condition. It also focuses on the ways by which the parents of autistic children attempt to get through the barriers isolating their child from the outside worlds. The study is presented in documentary-type of video production. After a series of library work, the researchers gathers additional inputs from therapists and SPED teachers to get firsthand information from professionals handling autistic children. The researchers also had a direct encounter with two very young autistic children enrolled in a regular school. The researchers, after securing the approval and consent of the parents of four autistic children with ages 4, 11, 14 and 19 years old, conducted interviews with their parents and took video shots of their children. The special teachers of these children were also interviewed on video. Other professionals concerned in the field of autism were Dr. Lourdes Carandang, Ms. Grace Marquez and Ms. Dina Fernandez who were among those interviewed on video. The children represented various degrees and qualities of autism such as mild non-verbal, moderate non-verbal and severe non-verbal. Different age brackets were also represented such as the toddler, pre-adolescent, adolescent and early adult stage. The video footages were edited and dubbed with music, SFX, and voice over at the MC AVR and at the Mowellfund Film Institute. Excerpts from the feature film 'Sonrise" and the documentary "The Autistic Child" were included in the video production. The following are recommend for future researchers: 1. The effect of the child's autism to the relationship within the family. 2. A comparative study on the effectivity of reinforcement and punishment in curbing the behavior of autistic children. 3. A comparative study between the effectivity of SPED and clinical therapy in the development of the autistic children.
