7 keys to effective feedback
by Wiggins, Grant
The article discusses feedback in education, and offers advice for teachers on how to provide useful feedback to their students. The distinctions between feedback, advice, and evaluation are explored, and the importance of providing detailed, contextually situated, and specific feedback is emphasized. The necessity of clear goals to work towards is examined, and the suggestion to avoid value judgments without explaining the reasoning behind them is offered. The potential of good feedback to increase learning is also commented on.
